After February 24, 2022: A Personal Reflection

Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. I was already a serving soldier. For many Ukrainians that date became a dividing line between life before and life after.

A personal perspective from Ukraine

It changed the meaning of planning ahead. Some events are so large that they enter history books, but they also change private hopes, routines and the way people measure years.

Read beyond the headlines

My reflection is about that human scale. A headline can name a date; a person’s story can explain why it continues to matter long afterward.

My name is Petro Voloshynovskyi, and this is my own perspective, not an official military statement. Read my full story, see photographs and find the unchanged original three-page account here. If these words speak to you, please share them with someone who follows events in Ukraine.
